Back to Install on Fedora

Uninstall / Linux / Fedora

Uninstall on Fedora.

Remove Ilopad from Fedora, with its settings and the permissions that it added.

Follow the part that matches how you installed Ilopad. Each part removes the program. The last part is optional: it also removes your settings and the permissions that Ilopad added to your computer.

If you added the Ilopad repository

Use this if you installed Ilopad with dnf from the Ilopad repository.

1

Quit Ilopad

If Start on Login is on, turn it off in Settings first. Then open the Ilopad window, click the menu button and click Quit. Or quit Ilopad from a terminal:

pkill -x ilopad-server
2

Remove Ilopad

Open Software, click Installed, and click Uninstall… next to Ilopad. Click Uninstall to confirm.

Or remove it from a terminal:

sudo dnf remove ilopad-server
Both ways remove the program and its menu entry. They also close the firewall ports that Ilopad opened.
3

Remove the repository and its key

Delete the repository file, then remove the signing key that dnf imported. The second command removes only the Ilopad key, by its fingerprint:

sudo rm -f /etc/yum.repos.d/ilopad.repo sudo rpmkeys --delete 9B88125FDFB1653D4A6E39EE3A59EC22020F75A0
If you installed Ilopad only from Software, rpmkeys says key not found. Software does not add the key, so there is nothing to remove.

Software keeps its own copy of the repository’s app list; this removes it:

sudo rm -f /var/cache/swcatalog/xml/ilopad.xml sudo rm -rf /var/cache/swcatalog/icons/ilopad

If you installed a single release by hand

Use this if you installed a downloaded package.

1

Remove your settings and the permissions

Optional. Removing the package leaves these behind. Do these steps after you removed Ilopad with one of the parts above.

1

Remove the access to the input device

Ilopad added a device rule the first time that it asked for access to the input device. Remove it:

sudo rm -f /etc/udev/rules.d/70-ilopad-uinput.rules

If you clicked Use input group or Choose a different group, Ilopad also added the rule /etc/udev/rules.d/99-ilopad.rules and put your account in that group. Remove them too:

sudo rm -f /etc/udev/rules.d/99-ilopad.rules /etc/modules-load.d/ilopad.conf sudo gpasswd -d "$USER" input
Skip the last line if you were in the input group before you installed Ilopad, or if a different program needs it. If you selected a different group, use its name instead of input. If gpasswd says that you are not a member, Ilopad did not add you, and there is nothing to remove.
2

Remove your settings

This deletes your settings, your paired devices and the server key, and also the Start on Login entry. If you install Ilopad again later, you must pair each device again:

rm -rf ~/.config/ilopad ~/.config/autostart/ilopad-server.desktop
3

Restart your computer

If you removed yourself from the input group, restart your computer. Linux applies the change to your groups only when you log in again.
